I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

A simple but effective Christmas card. The card is 8 x 8 size. I chose a snowflake patterned paper which I layered onto white card and then used a fab freebie snowflake embossing folder to emboss a white panel which I layered onto blue card.
I added die cut snowflakes and stamped the "Dreaming Of A White Christmas" sentiment.
Then to finish I embellished with silver and blue gems and "let it snow" ribbon and bow.

I've added 3 images to show the detail of the card closer up.

Santa on Ice!

So I spent a fun afternoon creating this card. My image is called "Ice Skating Santa" and is part of a digi kit from The Paper Shelter. I chose to use the background provided in the digi kit as well as the Santa image.
It can be found Here .

I've included 3 images for this card, my main one then a couple of close ups in an attempt to capture the sparkle of the gems and glitter.

I decided to matt my image onto green paper from dovecraft to co-ordinate with Santa's scarf. I then added green gems to the corners, silver gems to my sentiment and a silver star gem to the top of the tree. I used clear glitter glue and ultra fine white glitter to add to the trees and snow to give a snowy effect, clear glitter glue to Santa's scarf and the snowflakes and silver glitter glue to the bauble, Santa's skates and where he's skated. I stamped my "Its a wonderful time of year" sentiment and finished by adding a bow to my bauble.

Winter Wonderland

Another Christmas card I've made, this time with a Winter Wonderland theme.

My stamped snow globe image is from a freebie set I got with a magazine last month. I coloured it with promarkers, adding glitter glue and fine white glitter for the snow before die cutting it with a circle die and layering it onto further scalloped and normal circle die cuts and a doily. I used patterned snowflake paper from First Editions Silent Night paper pad which I layered onto coloured cardstock, ribbons from docraft and Anitas and gems and pearls from my stash. I stamped my Winter Wonderland sentiment onto a piece of my patterned paper before mounting it onto 2 die cut snowflakes from my stash. The card blank is an 8x8 scalloped card.

Caravanning fun!

Back with a card that I had a lot of fun making. Makes me wish it was still summer!

I made this fun card for my step-mums friend who loves caravans. The image was an outline clip art I found online that I've had for ages. (couldn't link back to its original source).  I wanted to make it girly for her as well as being fun and so I layered patterned paper from my stash and added lace and ribbons to it before finishing with buttons, gems and a sentiment.

I'm entering this card into the following challenge as I thought it fitted the travel theme perfectly.

Festive Cheer

This is the first of my Christmas cards for my friends and family that I'm sharing.  Gotta say, I'm really happy with it, don't think the photo really does it justice. I got to use some of my new crafty items on it too.

The image I chose to use on this card is "Chloe in hat and jumper" from Pink Gem Designs . I decided to use the pre-coloured image to save me some time with needing so many cards plus I think the colour scheme used really suits the image and Chloe is wearing my favourite colour. I think their digi stamps are stunning and can't wait to use more of them (I bought a few and got my eye on a few more).

The card is an 8 x 8 scalloped square card. I picked 2 different co-ordinating  papers to use, snowflakes and diagonal stripes. They are from First Edition's "Christmas Wishes" paper pad. I matted both papers, my sentiment and also my Chloe image onto cream cardstock, choosing to die cut my image with an oval nestabilities die and to mount it onto card die cut with an oval scalloped die. I decided to add a doily to my card as I felt it fitted my snowy theme and papers well. My Festive Cheer stamp is from a set I bought at The Range recently but I threw the packaging and now can't remember who made them. I added a white snowflake ribbon from docrafts and also made a bow with it. Finally, I added little snowflakes from my stash to the corners and silver gems to the snowflake paper and also little gems to the centres of  my tiny snowflakes.

I'm back (again lol)!

Yes, I'm back on my blog and this time I shall be trying really hard to start building it up and making regular posts. I was doing ok with getting started here but then my holiday was coming up and my attention went to that.

So, after a wonderful holiday to Fueturventura, I decided I needed to make a proper start on my Christmas cards as I only had a couple done already.

This inevitably for me meant a trip to The Range to stock up on Christmas goodies. As always it was a successful shopping trip resulting in lots of new ribbons, papers and clear stamps. Then the other day I decided my selection of gems and pearls was too limited and so hit Amazon to order more. An hour later and I had managed to order more than 14,100 new pearls and gems - what the hell I'm gonna do with that many I don't know but it was cheaper to buy in bulk so that was that and now I'm waiting for them all to come in the post. You know, I really think I may have an addiction to craft materials lol.

Anyway, I've been busy with the Christmas cards and getting on nicely making some decent progress. Add to that a birthday card and its safe to say I'm back into the swing of card making after my holiday. Just as well given the huge quantity of gems currently winging themselves my way.

Monday 7 September 2015

For this card, I layered patterned paper onto white cardstock, embellished with layers of lace and ribbon before adding a doily and a 3d teapot topper from a set with sequins in it. I then added a cup and some roses as further embellishments and finished by adding  'Happy Birthday' and 'A Special Mum' sentiments that I made on the computer.
